Meet the Board

  • Brendlyn King

    Brendalyn, a St. Louis native - moved to New York City to attend college at Fordham University. She later earned her Master’s degree in teaching and started her career working as an office manager. In 2009 she manifested her dream of opening Leadership Prep Ocean Hill - a Blue-Ribbon award-winning charter elementary school in Brownsville Brooklyn. In 2013 she departed her role and was left dealing with painful fibroids that were exacerbated by the stress of leading a high-performing school.

    With nutritional and medicinal support, she began a personal healing process that included cannabis as a treatment that would eventually heal her fibroids. She began working as an Executive coach to support high-performing leaders and expand their capacity for space. She is now a certified coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) & Program Manager at Bhavana Learning Group. She has also chosen to follow hemp. You can find her on her 244 acre hemp farm while also securing funding for a physical retreat site for healing, experiential learning and play, forming new relationships in agriculture and planning for her child-rearing years.

  • Carri Munn

    Carri is a systems strategist and masterful facilitator who partners with systems change leaders to cultivate thriving organizations and networks. She has been consulting and coaching for more than 20 years. Her clients include regional and global networks, coordination teams, and executives.

    She brings a bright spirit of generosity, detail-orientation, and a patient, caring essence supports people navigating change. Carri is based in Portland, Oregon. She enjoys living locally and working globally.

    Carri holds a BA in Political Theory and a MA in PublicAdministration and Nonprofit Management. She is certified as a True Purpose and HeartMath Coach

  • Brad King | Co-Chairman

    An Educator, entrepreneur was previously Americas President of China JobKing, Suzhou,China. He is a Certified Special Education Teacher, Queen Creek Unified School District, Queen Creek, Arizona, former Adjunct Professor, University of Missouri, St. Louis. Bradley is a member of Archer-Ragsdale Chapter of the Tuskegee Airmen, Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and The Royal Vagabond Foundation. Bradley holds a master’s degree in education from Fontbonne University and a master’s degree in nonprofit from Washington University and Ph.D. ABD Capella University.

  • Andrea Williams

    Andrea is a communications and brand strategist.  She spent nearly two decades building and executing public relations campaigns for  marquee athletes in the NFL, NBA, and boxing industries.

    In a personal shift, she transitioned to working with entrepreneurs, small start-ups, and community centered organizations. In 2017, she launched the Black Girl Tea Partea- a gathering dedicated to creating space for Black women to gather and connect.

    Andrea holds a BA in English and African & African-American Studies, and a MS in Global Strategic Communications.

  • Kristin McCowan

    Dr. Kristin J. McCowan is a senior director of research, data, and impact at the Community Center for Education Results (CCER), where she leads applied research initiatives centering community voice and racial equity. She holds an MSW in Policy, Planning & Administration from the University of Missouri‑Columbia and a PhD in Social Welfare from the University of Washington. A practitioner, educator and facilitator, Dr. McCowan brings together scholarship and action to design and implement innovative approaches to research partnerships, measurement and educational equity.

    Her research interests include adolescent well-being, sociopolitical development, critical consciousness and culturally-rooted educational systems. Guided by the principle that authentic and community-driven design must centre Black experiences for everyone to win, Dr. McCowan’s work aims to transform how data and research are conducted and applied in practice.
